To pass a sustainable society
on to the children of the future
so that no one is left behind.

The Japan Network for Public Interest Activities (JANPIA) was established in July 2018 by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) following the full entry-into-force of the Act on Utilization of Funds Related to Dormant Deposits to Promote Public Interest Activities by the Private Sector on January 1, 2018, as an organization intended to operate as the Designated Utilization Organization under this law.
In Japan, various issues that could affect the quality and level of the lives of the citizenry have emerged as a result of changes in socioeconomic conditions, such as population decline and aging. To solve those issues, not only governmental actions but also innovative activities by the private sector are required.

Under the Act on Utilization of Funds Related to Dormant Deposits to Promote Public Interest Activities by the Private Sector, dormant deposits should be used to promote public interest activities by the private sector for ([1] support for children and young people, [2] support for people having difficulties in their daily and social lives, and [3] support for community revitalization) with the aim of solving social issues that are difficult for the government sector to deal with.

In order to pass a sustainable society on to the children of the future so that no one is left behind, JANPIA aims to act as a catalyst for support for organizations and people who continue efforts to resolve various social issues through innovative methods based on the Act on Utilization of Funds Related to Dormant Deposits to Promote Public Interest Activities by the Private Sector by bringing together wisdom, creativity and innovation from across the private sector in cooperation with a great variety of stakeholders throughout Japan.
We would appreciate the continued understanding and cooperation of all relevant people.
